Roosevelt Welcomes Youngest Learners with Storytime

Incoming kindergartners and pre-K students at Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School were treated to a special welcome this week as Principal Devra Small hosted a Storytime in the school’s music classroom.

Ms. Small read “Sorry, Grown-Ups, You Can’t Go to School” and “Harry by the Sea” to the eager new students before leading them in a lively round of “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.” Parents joined in the gathering, which was designed as a gentle introduction to the school community, giving children a chance to meet classmates, explore their new surroundings, and ease into the transition of starting school.

The morning ended with plenty of smiles and excitement as Roosevelt’s littlest learners left looking forward to the first day of school.
