Committee on Preschool Special Education (CPSE)

Children ages 3 to 5 years old who are thought to have a disability or are receiving early intervention services (EI) are referred to the CPSE. The CPSE will facilitate, through county approved agencies, a comprehensive evaluation to determine if a disability exists. If a child is identified as a student with a disability and meets eligibility requirements, the CPSE will develop an individual education program (IEP) of services to meet the needs of the child. The Committee functions under the Part 200 Regulations of the State of New York and Nassau County Department of Health regulations. Comité de Educación Especial Preescolar (CPSE)

Se refieren al Comité de Educación Especial Preescolar (CPSE) los niños de entre 3 y 5 años quienes pueden tener una discapacidad o retraso en el desarrollo o quienes reciben servicios de Intervención Temprana (EI). El CPSE facilitará, a través de agencias aprobadas por el condado, una evaluación comprensiva para determinar si hay una discapacidad. Si se identifica al niño como estudiante con discapacidad y el niño cumple con los criterios de elegibilidad pertinentes, el CPSE creará un Programa de Educación Individualizado (IEP) para satisfacer las necesidades del niño/a. El Comité funciona bajo Parte 200 de las normativas del Estado de Nueva York y reglamentos del Departamento de Salud del Condado de Nassau.
