Oyster Bay High School’s Colton Schmiesing has etched his name in the history books as the first member of the school’s wrestling program to win a New York State Championship Title. Competing in the 108-pound weight class, Colton was crowned the 2025 NYS Division II 108 State Champion after a hard-fought final match on Saturday at the MVP Arena in Albany.

Colton’s journey to the title was nothing short of remarkable. With unwavering determination, skill and resilience, he battled through the toughest competition in the state, showcasing his strength and technical prowess on the mat. His victory marks a milestone for the Oyster Bay wrestling program and serves as an inspiration for future generations of wrestlers.
