    Five students from the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District were named Kids of Distinction by Legislator Joshua A. Lafazan during the First Annual Kids of Distinction Awards Ceremony at the Cultural Arts Playhouse in Syosset, Feb. 4.

    With sentiments that acknowledged their bravery and sacrifices, students in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District expressed their gratitude to those who served our country by designing Valentine’s Day cards as part of the Town of Oyster Bay’s Valentines for Veterans program.

  • Meet February's Athletes of the Month

    Oyster Bay High School’s Athletics Department has proudly announced its February selections for “Athlete of the Month.” The athletes were selected by their coaches and chosen for exhibiting qualities that make them exemplary role models for their teammates, such as leadership, dedication, attitude, level of improvement, and skill.

  • Two Winter Track Athletes are Conference Champs

    Oyster Bay High School juniors Erica Duke and Michela Rutigliano became Conference 6 Winter Track Champions after competing at St. Anthony’s High School, Jan. 29. The championship featured nine teams including Locust Valley, Cold Spring Harbor and Seaford, among others.

  • LEGO Robotics Team Wins 2 Awards at Regionals

    Marking a “first” for the district, Oyster Bay High School’s LEGO Robotics Team, titled “Jedi of the Bay,” captured two awards at the SBPLI FIRST LEGO League Regional Tournament at Mineola High School, Jan. 26.

    Fundraising efforts for the YOLO Strong Foundation are underway by Oyster Bay High School’s chapter of National Junior Honor Society with hopes of exceeding its current fundraising goal of $4,000.

  • OBEN Teachers Honored as 2019 ASSET Bright Lights

    Oyster Bay High School English language arts teacher Ms. Maria Kim and James H. Vernon School 4th grade teacher Ms. Janet Link were named 2019 Technology Bright Lights honorees by the Association of Suffolk Supervisors for Educational Technologies (ASSET).

  • OBEN Students Pilot 'Standing Where They Stood' Tour at Raynham Hall

    Standing on paper footprints, 5th graders from James H. Vernon School read aloud: “I am Priscilla, and I was purchased in 1796 by Solomon Townsend for 55 pounds…I am Jim, and in 1829 I walked 20 miles herding two cows... I am Isaac, and I escaped in 1784.” The students were among the first to pilot a new tour offered at Raynham Hall Museum called, “Standing Where They Stood,” the first of its kind that sheds light on slavery in the north.

  • Wrestling Champions

    Congratulations to Varsity Wrestlers Michael Leandrou and Jake Rankin on becoming Nassau County Champions this weekend.  Erick Velasques earned a 3rd place spot and Steven Mushorn earned a 4th place spot in the County Championships. Good luck up at the state tournament!

  • Foreign Language Honor Society

    The Foreign Language Honor Society Tutoring Program is now available for students after school. Anyone needing some extra help in Spanish or French can fill out a request form in the Counseling Office or pick up a form from the language teachers.
