Shannon Murphy teaches English 9H, English 10H, and Journalism at Oyster Bay High School. She received her bachelor’s degree in English and secondary education from Stony Brook University and her master’s degree in English literature from Hofstra University. She also possesses TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) certification. Ms. Murphy was an English teacher at Hicksville High School before coming to OBHS. She has also taught English abroad in Seoul, South Korea. Ms. Murphy is currently the adviser of the school newspaper, The Harbour Voice, and Quill and Scroll. In addition, she co-advises the school's literary arts magazine, Agapae. Ms. Murphy enjoys teaching at OBHS and is enthusiastic to share her love of reading and writing with her students.
