  • National Honor Society inductees take pledge

    National Honor Society Inducts 50 Students

    Confirming their academic success and their roles as class leaders, the Oyster Bay High School Chapter of National Honor Society inducted 50 students, March 11. The new inductees bring the total number of members to 135.

    To be inducted into National Honor Society, students must demonstrate excellence in the four pillars of the organization: scholarship, service, leadership and character; and maintain a grade-point average of 90 or higher. Students in the second semester of 10th grade through 12th grade are considered for admission.

  • Thomas Coor is a National Merit Finalist

    Thomas Coor is a National Merit Finalist

    Oyster Bay High School senior Thomas Coor was named a Finalist in the National Merit Scholarship Program, placing him among the top one percent of the nation’s brightest and most promising students.

    As a Finalist, Thomas is in the running to win one of 8,300 scholarships worth more than $32 million. Of the 15,000 National Merit finalists, 7,500 scholarship winners will be announced in the spring.

    Students Train Teachers for Phys. Ed. Project

    It’s not often that you see teachers working out in a weight room, coached by students who are pushing them to their limits. But that’s exactly what took place in Mr. Charles Rizzuto’s Exercise Science and Injury Prevention and Management course at Oyster Bay High School.
