Movies Fill Stage for 7/8 Musical Revue OB Celebrates the Movies

  • Continued from cover

“Our student actors really brought their energy and enthusiasm to the stage,” said Mr. Anthony Femino, K-12 Fine and Performing Arts Supervisor and Producer of the show. “Kudos to our 7th and 8th grade cast and crew for making this production a success. I hope to see these actors and crew members in future productions as they continue through high school.”

The show was conceived and directed by Mr. Derrick Cobey, who described the show as “one awesome musical tapestry” in which the characters, songs and dialogue from the classic films were celebrated.  He worked countless hours coaching students on their delivery of both their monologues and songs. Vocal Director Ms. Melissa Kozee worked equally as hard teaching students their songs, and Assistant Producer/Theater Arts Director Ms. Maria Randazzo worked closely with the crew.

The cast included Aurora Aschettino, Ryan Capone, Jaiya Chetram, Jenna Cody, Valerie Cotto, Grace Curry, Nicole Krumholz, Brooklyn Matt, Laura McKevitt, Sophia Sattar-Reiss and Julianna Wilson.

The stage crew consisted of Ella Cortes, Julia Cutajar, Julianna Goldman, Kevin Hart, Rebecca Keller, Muskan Kumar, Ella Lingen, Maria McKevitt, Matthew Tepper, Jeffrey Vasquez, Joycelin Wong and Emily Wiesenfeld.

The show was accompanied by Ms. Kozee on piano, Mr. Edmund Chiarello on percussion and Ms. Adrianna Schaefer on bass. Lighting and sound was provided by Glen Scott Designs.
