Veteran Administrator is Named OBHS Assistant Principal
Veteran educator Dr. Peter Rufa is passionate about driving students to success. As Oyster Bay High School’s new Assistant Principal for grades 10-12, that sentiment fuels his goals and expectations as he moves forward in his new role.
“I am working towards getting to know more students in the high school and supporting them in academic and overall success,” Dr. Rufa said.
An educational leader in the District for six years, Dr. Rufa most recently served as the K-12 Supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts. In that role, he not only led the District’s high-performing fine arts and music program, but worked to develop and implement a facilities plan for the creation of the voter-approved Fine and Performing Arts Wing at Oyster Bay High School.
OBEN Schools Welcomes New Staff Members
Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District began the school year with two new department supervisors and new members of its faculty.
Mr. Anthony Femino joins the District as K-12 Supervisor for Fine and Performing Arts, replacing Dr. Peter Rufa who became Oyster Bay High School Assistant Principal for grades 10-12. After severing 12 years in the New York City school system, Mr. Femino said he’s “happy to return to a small school district where students will have a sequential arts education.”
