Athletes of the Month are Leaders on the Field
Oyster Bay High School’s Department of Athletics proudly announces its June selections for “Athlete of the Month.” This month’s athletes are from Badminton, Baseball, Crew, Girls Lacrosse, Girls Track & Field and Softball. Athletes are selected by their coaches and chosen for exhibiting qualities that make them exemplary role models for their teammates, such as leadership, dedication, attitude, level of improvement, and skill.
This year’s Athlete of the Month for Badminton is senior Brittany Browner. Brittany is a four-year varsity starter. Although she has been primarily a doubles player, this season she stepped up to play third singles. She compiled a 6-6 record at that position. In addition, she represented Oyster Bay this year at the Nassau County Individual Singles tournament. “Her work ethic and commitment to our team’s success will be missed next season,” said Coach Greg Bilello.
