    Roosevelt Explores 'Mindfulness'

    Roosevelt Elementary School kindergartners are learning how to develop a healthy mind and body in ways that will help them heighten their awareness and improve their focus and attention. The initiative is called Mindfulness and it was brought to Roosevelt by the schools’ Site Based Committee. 

    The effort kicked off with a school-wide activity in which students made their own “Mind Jars,” a simple tool that helps students concentrate on how their brain functions.

    OBHS Athletes of the Month Announced

    Oyster Bay High School’s Department of Athletics proudly announces its “Athletes of the Month” for February. Athletes are selected by their coaches and chosen for exhibiting qualities that make them exemplary role models for their teammates, such as leadership, dedication, attitude, level of improvement, and skill. February’s athletes represent Bowling, Fencing, Girls’ Basketball and Girls Winter Track.

    Sophomore Marc Iocono is Athlete of the Month, representing the Baymen Bowling Team.
