Class of 2022 Valedictorian and Salutatorian
The High School is proud to announce Kevin Biggiani as the Class of 2022 valedictorian and Bridget Zahradnik as the salutatorian.
Throughout his time at Oyster Bay High School, Kevin has received many academic distinctions. Most recently, he was selected as a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program for his outstanding performance on the Preliminary SAT. Kevin received the designation of an AP Scholar as well as the AP Capstone Diploma for earning a score of three or higher in AP Seminar, AP Research and on four additional AP exams. Additionally, he received Excellence Awards in English, Mathematics, Music and Physical Education.
Kevin’s academic achievements have earned him various honors over the years. He was named to the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, National Honor Society, Rho Kappa Honor Society, Science Honor Society, Quill and Scroll International Honor Society and the World Language Honor Society. He is also an officer of the Tri-M Music Honor Society, due to his success in the music and fine arts department. Kevin was recently selected as a member of the 2021 All-State Symphonic Orchestra and has been chosen five times as an All-County musician. Kevin is involved in other extracurriculars including Mathletes, the Student Council Executive Board where he serves as Executive Media Specialist and the OBHS Interact Rotary International Club where he is the Vice President. Kevin is also the Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Harbour Voice, and the Executive Producer of Baymen Television. His leadership skills carry over into athletics, where Kevin is the captain of the varsity tennis team.
Outside of the classroom and OBHS, Kevin has dedicated time to various community organizations. In 2019, he participated in the ICaRE Summer Science Program at the Institute of Cancer Research at SUNY Old Westbury. He was also selected to be a Partner for the Future at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned research program, and is a Friend of the Bay, dedicating time to preserving, protecting and restoring the Oyster Bay and Cold Spring Harbor Estuary.
Salutatorian Bridget Zahradnik is an active member of the Oyster Bay High School community. This year, she was named a Commended Student in the National Merit Scholarship Program and an AP Scholar. Due to her academic success, Bridget is the President of the National Honor Society and a member of other honor societies including the Foreign Language Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society, Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society and the Science Honor Society. Additionally, Bridget received an Excellence Award in Computer Science during her high school career.
Bridget is involved in the arts as a member of the High School Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and Tri-M Music Honor Society. Prior to her senior year, she was a member of the Symphonic Band and participated in the New York State School Music Association Solo and Ensemble Music Festival. Additionally, Bridget is a member of other extracurriculars including Mathletes, where she serves as President and the Student Council Executive Board as the Senior Class Correspondent. As a Site-Based Committee student representative, she collaborates with school community members including parents, teachers and administrators. Bridget is also an accomplished student-athlete as a member of the varsity volleyball and lacrosse teams.
Outside of school, Bridget participates in community service and involves herself with other organizations. This year, she is a cardiac research assistant at the DeMatteis Center at St. Francis Hospital and a member of the Birthday Wishes Club, which provides birthday party supplies for children facing homelessness.
