The Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District has appointed Ms. Maureen Raynor as Deputy Superintendent, effective June 1. She will fill the position held by Dr. Lisa Mulhall, Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, who will continue her career in another district at the end of the school year.
Ms. Raynor, of East Northport, comes to the District with a strong background in information technology and data analysis. An administrator for five years, she is currently the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Instructional Services at Harborfields Central School District.
Ms. Raynor is pursuing her doctorate in Administration and Supervision at St. John’s University and has been examining district data and its direct relation to student achievement and the district curriculum. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Programming and Information Systems from Farmingdale State College, a master’s degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Hofstra University, and an Advanced Certificate in Educational Leadership and Administration. She also earned school district and school building professional certificates and a professional certificate for mathematics 7-12. She is currently working on an Advanced Certificate for School District Business Leader.
Before pursuing a career in education, Ms. Raynor worked in Information Technology as a network administrator for about four years. She then served nine years in the Harborfields Central School District, first as a mathematics teacher and then as a Teacher on Special Assignment where she was responsible for district data and technology projects as well as curriculum and instruction initiatives. Ms. Raynor served the Kings Park Central School District as an assistant principal for two years and was the Executive Director for Human Resources and Instructional Services in the Harborfields Central District before advancing to her current position.
“We are thrilled to have Ms. Raynor join our leadership team here in Oyster Bay,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Francesco Ianni. “I have had the pleasure of working with Ms. Raynor in the Harborfields School District and I know from experience that she has excellent skills that will serve our District well as we work towards the next level of achievement.”
