Award winners were chosen for their accomplishments in the five pillars of the organization, including leadership, service, scholarship, citizenship and character, and their student activities. As a winner, Ania received $500 in a 529 college savings account to help her reach her educational goals.
“Ania is the epitome of service, leadership, character, scholarship and citizenship," said NJHS Advisor Ms. Ashleigh Pryor, who encourages all members to apply. "She has excelled in academics by achieving Principal’s Honor Roll every quarter while dedicating her time, service, character, and leadership to all extra-curricular activities.”
Ania serves as the Vice President of the Freshman Class, Publicity Officer of Mathletes, Publicity Officer for the National Junior Honor Society, and plays percussion in Jazz Band. She is working with Administration to start an Environmental and Sustainability club at Oyster Bay High School. Ania is a dedicated member of a high-performance crew team. On weekends, she is a ski instructor at Stratton Mountain, Vermont. She actively teaches young skiers, typically 3-7 years old, how to ski and how to improve their skills.
“Ania’s willingness to sacrifice her time to help others is a great display of her selfless attitude,” Ms. Pryor added. “This award is not only well deserved, but it will also help her stand out when it comes time to apply to colleges.”
