Theodore Roosevelt Elementary School is dressing up for a week of celebrating reading! The event, held in conjunction with the national Read Across America Day, is promoting excitement and creativity as students participate in different dress-up days while honing their reading skills with a broad selection of books. Read Across America, known to mark the birthday of popular children’s author Dr. Seuss, has shifted its focus to promote and celebrate diverse children’s books. Throughout the week, early readers are expanding their learning while wearing their favorite hat, wearing mismatched or flashy socks, wearing “wacky clothes and hair,” wearing animal prints, and wearing pajamas to celebrate their love for reading! Many thanks to librarian Ms. Roseann Davidson for coordinating these activities.
