Vernon Competes in Multiplication Super Bowl

James H. Vernon School 3rd graders were on top of their game when they competed in the 7th Annual Multiplication Super Bowl. The school tradition, which aligns with the biggest game in football, builds excitement for math and encourages students to memorize their facts as classes participate in a friendly race for the championship title. Each of the five 3rd grade classes wore a team color.  Using a multiplication spinner, students lined up according to their class and competed one-on-one.  Teachers tallied the points to determine the class that won the most rounds. This year, Ms. Jillian Duval and Ms. Erin Sterben’s class was victorious. As a reward, the class received a trophy and the class name was added to a football that bears the names of the winning classes since the competition’s inception.
