Summer internship opportunities with Legislator Lafazan's Office
Last summer Legislator Lafazan's office put together an internship program of over 125 students, which received coverage from The New York Times! To learn a bit more about our intern programs, you can also check out FOX 5's coverage or coverage from Pix 11.
High school and college students who participate in the program will come away feeling that they have accomplished something purposeful, will have connected with citizens in their community, and also will have made great friends, all while having fun as a part of our intern community.
**What makes a student a good fit for our internship program?**
(1) Students who are interested in politics and government
(2) Students who want to be involved within their community
(3) Students who have not yet found a summer internship and want to do something meaningful this summer
We have two tracks for interns - a high-school track & a college track. There is one application for both high-school and college tracks. Please see the application for further details about our program, including start and end dates.
A Little Bit About Legislator Lafazan:
Legislator Lafazan became Nassau County’s youngest ever Legislator in 2017 and, as the only millennial serving in the Nassau County Legislature, at 27 he’s made it his mission to motivate young people to become involved in politics.
Legislator Lafazan is an independent, and this is a perfect opportunity for students to get involved in local politics in a nonpartisan manner.
