LEGO Robotics Team Wins Two Awards
Marking a “first” for the district, Oyster Bay High School’s LEGO Robotics Team, titled “Jedi of the Bay,” captured two awards at the SBPLI FIRST LEGO League Regional Tournament at Mineola High School, Jan. 26. The team, made up of six 7th graders, won the Alliance Award for earning the highest score in the Alliance round and the Core Values-Teamwork Award for proving that the “whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” In the Alliance round, teams pair with other teams to compete. Both awards were constructed out of colorful LEGO pieces.
Zip Line Challenge Tops TR Science Fun Night
Roosevelt Elementary School 2nd graders, dressed in lab coats and goggles, were full of excitement and wonder as they participated in Science Fun Night with their families, Feb. 1.
