  • OBHS all-county musicians 2018

    OBEN Students Selected for   All-County Music Festival 

    Nearly 30 student-musicians from the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District were selected to play alongside the best musicians countywide. They will perform at the Nassau Music Educators Association All-County Music Festival at Tilles Center for the Performing Arts in Greenvale, Jan. 13 and Jan. 18-20.

    Students were selected for the festival based on their New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) evaluations and teacher recommendations.

    Building on 'Hour of Code' with First Annual STEM Night

    Bubbling beakers, squishable slime, programmable robots and flying paper cones were all part of the eye-popping, brain-building activities featured at the first annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) Night in the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Central School District.

    The event, held at James H. Vernon School in conjunction with Computer Science Education Week, was open to K-6 grade students and served as an extension of the District’s annual Hour of
